MVVS engines have a high compression ratio, and need 95 Octane petrol
The engines like an oil mix of 32:1 for best performance. 40:1 will do, when run in. (MVVS recommendation)
Gas engines run much hotter than glow engines, so cooling of the engine should receive close attention. Air guiding baffles or plates should be used if the engine is shrouded from the direct prop blast. Air exits in the cowl should be three times the surface of the air inlets, and be located in low pressure zones. Air inlets that do not direct the air to the engine reduce cooling, so should be blocked off, because they use air exit capacity, better used for cooling air. |
